【摘要】:Thisguideisintendedtodirecttheusertotheappropriateexistingstandardsandliteratureinorderfortheusertobecomeknowledgeableoftheoperationsthatneedtobedonetoeffectivelycompare,detectandidentifytheodorsofpaints,inks,andrelatedmaterials.Thisguidedirectstheusertospecificstandardsandliteraturesourcesthatallowtheusertoaccomplishtheprimarystepstocompletethefollowingtask:(1)Comparingproductsfortheirodorcharacteristics,(2)Determiningtheperceptionthresholdofodors,(3)Isolatingandidentifyingthechemicalnatureoftheodor,and(4)Confirmingtheresults.1.1Thisguideisintendedtoprovidedirectioninordertoassisttheproducersandusersofpaints,inks,andrelatedcoatings,andotherswhomayalsobeexposed,todetect,compareandidentifytheodorsthatmayoriginatefromthesematerials.1.2Thisguideisintendedtoprovidereferencesforestablishingguidelinestoassistinidentifyingandverifyingthesourcesofodorsandotherrelatedissues.FurtherinformationmaybefoundinDS-48A(1).1.3Thisguideisintendedtoassistinestablishingguidelinesasfollows:(1)Comparingproductsfortheirodorcharacteristics,(2)Determiningtheperceptionthresholdofodors,(3)Isolatingandidentifyingthechemicalnatureoftheodor,and(4)Confirmingtheresults.1.4Forhazardinformationandguidance,seethesupplier''sMaterialSafetyDataSheet.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
